Addison and Everett exceeded our expectations and overall, had a very positive and productive day. Aside from one post-nap meltdown (an Addy special) and short naps (for both) everyone at school said they did very well adjusting to a new place, new people and new routine.
Scarlet, unfortunately, was not as interested in acclimating. As she is in her height of parental attachment, is wary of new people and does not like to hear other children cry, she basically had a miserable day that was punctuated with a nice, big cry of relief when she saw my at pick-up time.
Everyone is telling me that things will calm down and she'll get the hang of it. I have no doubt she will. But in the meantime, I am heartbroken and would like nothing more to spend my days with her, helping her get adjusted.
Tomorrow, we will take our lessons learned from Day 1 and apply them in hopes of making it a little more bearable. Her class size will be reduced, as the older kids are moving up and out (yeah!) I will also spend more time in her classroom playing with her, as opposed to talking to the teacher about her routine.
Let's hope for a better Day 2, Scoopy.

How beautiful everyone looks!!! I'm so sorry to hear that it wasn't a fun experience for my little Scarlet...but I'm sure it will get better.
