VIDEO and PHOTOS: The Beach

We went to South Florida the weekend of Oct. 9 to have a surprise birthday party for Grandma. The following day, we visited our old stomping grounds, Ft. Lauderdale Beach. I had this wonderful idea in my head that my children would run on the sand, laugh and play in the water and maybe make it down to the playground - boy was I wrong!

Addison and Everett flat out hated the sand on their feet and were scared of the water. Scarlet, on the other hand, thought she was a fish and absolutely loved it. She sat down in the surf and yelled each time the water came. Sometimes, a wave actually picked her up and took her a little farther into the water.


In the video at the bottom, you see Scarlet feeling sand for the first time, Everett crying behind the camera and Addy trying to shake the sand from his foot.


Scarlet loved the water and sand.


The boys preferred to stay on the dry side with Aunt Pat and Uncle Vic.
