There was no better first-ever movie experience in a real theater than CARS, which is the only movie the kids have ever seen. (Addy has just started watching Toy Story, though.)
So, it was perfect that the original CARS was playing at Downtown Disney in June. After some time in the sun looking at classic cars, we took them into the theater, gave Scarlet the second bag of popcorn she's ever had (the first was the Yo Gabba Gabba live show) and settled in, preparing for when one of the three would tell us it was too loud.
We made it about 20 minutes before Scarlet fell asleep and both boys had their hands cupped over their ears. We left 10 minutes later, but still - it was a great experience.
Next time, we'll see a softer-sounding movie.
