THE BIG CUT!
Scarlet is almost 4 years old and has maybe had 4 haircuts in her life. We're lucky that her hair is quite easy to manage, she loves long hair and over time, has gotten used to brushing at night and in the morning.
But, there's a great organization called Locks of Love, where anyone can donate at least 10 inches of hair that is then used to make wigs for children who, for several reasons, do not have hair of their own.
We've been talking to Scarlet about Locks of Love for several months, and just a few days ago, she told us she wanted to cut her hair. We visited the website again to show her pictures and how she could help another little girl with no hair.
Feeling as confident as possible that she was ready, we cut 11 inches of hair on Sunday, leaving her with a light, short bob that she loves.
I admit, I was quite sad to see her hair go, as it signified to me that Scarlet was still a baby with no real "style" to her hair except long and free to fly wherever it wanted. But, I'm so happy Scarlet was able to experience the idea of donation at such a young age. When we got home with the hair, Scarlet helped address the envelope to Locks of Love, wrote her name on the back, added the stamps and put it in the mailbox.

| This is where I'd like it to be when you're done. |

Here we go.

Brushing it out.

Getting it into a pony tail.

| Measuring the length. |

| Cleaning up the cut. |
 |
| All done - with a lollipop. |
 |
| Um.... |
 |
| I'm good with it! Here's my hair to donate! |

Grandma and Grandpa are very proud of you Scarlet. Your donating your beautiful hair to Locks of Love to help another child is something you should be very proud of. I love your new haircut...you look very beautiful and maybe if you let it grow real long again, you'll be able to donate another time.
