3rd Quarter School Roundup - Kindergarten

The boys received report cards for this quarter and they continue to do awesome.

Everett continues to earns all Es (excellent) in every category he is rated on, including conduct, approaches to learning and the basics like reading, writing, math and social studies. His reading level is listed as "j+", the highest offered at his grade level, but he reads on a L/M level, including chapter books.

Everett's biggest learnings (that we observed) is persuasive writing and critical thinking. He now tries to "persuade" us to do something by listing out the reasons why. Everett's also learned about some of the first leaders of America, American symbols, etc. His passion for learning, we hope, will continue throughout school.

Addison made huge strides in the 3rd quarter. He jumped from reading at an B level to D/E. (He was just tested for F, and isn't ready just yet, but may be before the end of the year.) He improved his writing score of "unsatisfactory" (the lowest score possible) to "needs improvement."

He also moved up his reading score of "needs improvement" to "satisfactory." He then took his approaches to learning score of "satisfactory" and moved it to "excellent." He earned Es in all other areas.

And for the cherry on top, Addison earned the PRIDE award in Q3, which stands for Performance, Responsibility, Improvement, Diligence and Effort. I think only a handful of these are given out across the school each quarter. He was a proud little kid today!

Addy was given his award at school today.

Despite his appearance, he really likes school!
