VIDEO: Happy 5th Birthday Scarlet!
Scarlet turned 5 years old on Sunday, July 13. There was no discussion about our theme this summer - it was FROZEN! Scarlet had a great party, inviting (for the first time) friends from the pre-K class, as well as friends on our block, and a few of Addy and Everett's classmates who have befriended her over the year.
Scarlet had a wonderful year. She started and finished Pre-K, is getting ready to enter elementary school, really started to discover the princess phase (as well as a dollhouse and "dollies"), still loves to share a big bed with her brothers, and still sucks her thumb at night (even though we're trying to quit....)
She is a wonderfully sweet girl who loves to be a leader, but also is ready and willing to help a friend. She definitely inherited Papa's sense of humor and silliness - and recently laughed so hard she actually started crying!
Here are some of the party highlights - plus a video at the bottom!
Scarlet had her first gift on Sunday morning when she woke up. A Frozen dress with her name. These are her favorite types of dresses right now. Easy to wear and purple!
Playing with the brothers.
Papa and Scoopy.
Trying on my head band.
Having a little fun on the slip and slide.
Somehow, we found a tutorial on YouTube for a Elsa cake. We watched it for at least 2 months before Scarlet's birthday. In the end, it took about 5 hours to make it, but it actually came out pretty good! The top half is an actual Elsa doll that is sitting in a small cup of frosting in the middle of the cake. We removed her legs because she was too tall, but were able to attach them again.
Scarlet was so lucky to have so many friends be able to visit and enjoy the party.
This is from the end of the day. We had the slide until 5 p.m. and used it every minute.
